FSGS(Focal Segmental Glomerular Sclerosis) is a pattern of kidney filtering system damage featuring as glomerular damage. It is a common cause of Nephrotic Syndrome(NS). It mostly occurs in children and adolescents.
The causes of FSGS
There are many risk factors of FSGS, such as poison damage, humoral immunity and the hemodynamic changes. These factors all can cause capillary wall damage. It may be increased by pathological changes of the epithelial cells. The hemodynamic changes lead to the high blood pressure, hypertransfusion and high filtration of glomerular, causing FSGS.
The symptoms of FSGS
The first clinic symptom is nephrotic syndrome. At the last count, about 2/3 of patients has a large amount of proteinuria and heavy swelling. The amount of protein in urine may be in the range of 1-30g/d. About more than 50% of the patients with hematuria, mostly of microscopic haematuria, accidentally see gross hematuria. About 30%-50% patients in adult may have mild persistent high blood pressure or chronic nephritic syndrome. In adults, when the illness worsens, it will finally progress into kidney failure.
Treatment of FSGS
There remains controversy for the treatment of FSGS. People used to think that there is no mature and effective treatment. But in recent years, a large number of retrospective study shows that to treat the causes of FSGS positively and at the same time to do symptomatic treatment like diuresis and lower blood pressure can relieve the symptoms of nephrotic syndrome and delay the progression of the illness condition.
Here I will introduce you a new Chinese therapy---Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, which is effective in treating FSGS. The mechanism of this therapy is through dilating blood vessels, anti-inflammation, anti-coagulation and degrading extracellular matrix to repair the damaged glomerular and rebuild kidney structure and improving kidney function.
