For people with kidney disease, they can experience changes of urine volume in some cases. Here, we will introduce three common manifestations of changes of urine volume.
One of the main responsibilities of kidneys is to remove metabolite of fluid(urine) out of the body. In general, the normal urine output is 1000-2000ml per day, and the average level is 1500ml. As we all know, the more we drink the more the urine volume, which is owed to the adjustment of kidney. For people with kidney disease, they will experience the following three common manifestations in this aspect:
1. Decreased urine output
If the urine volume is less than 200ml/24h, it is known as oliguria; If the urine volume is less than 100ml/24h, it is referred to anuria. As a matter of fact, both oliguria and anuria imply severe kidney damage. And the causes mainly include shock, dehydration, heart failure, kidney stones, tumor, blockage of kidney tubules and prostatic hyperplasia.
2. Increased urine output
If the urine output is above 2500ml continuously, it is known as polyuria. And factors induce this abnormal symptom include diabetic nephropathy, renal tubulointerstitial lesion and so on.
3. Frequent urination at night
In normal condition, the urine output in daytime is more than that at night. As kidneys are damaged, they have to work harder and harder in the nighttime. So, if the urine output at night is above that in the daytime or the urine volume at night is more than 750ml, it is termed as frequent urination at night. And the onset of excessive urination at night indicates the kidney tubules have been injured.
If you are suffering from one of the aforementioned three common manifestations of changes of urine volume, do not hesitate to take timely treatments early. Anything unclear, leave us a message email@example.com now!
